Dutchy Continues to Amaze

End of July brought round the British Dressage Regionals which were held at Bicton Arena showgrounds.
Dad was over visiting so took on the role of lorry driver and after sitting in a hefty amount of school holiday traffic we arrived just in time to do the arena walk with Dutchy (Ji Alda). In usual fashion she takes new environments all in her stride, including the ‘very scary’ beautiful flowers at A.
Once that was quickly done and dusted, she soon settled into her stable and hoovered up her dinner in true Dutchy style. She amazes me how cool and confident she is to take away to shows, she really loves the busy vibe and 100% attention!
On Saturday we competed in the Medium 75, with our goal to reach my third nationals on my third horse, and dutchys first of course!
She produced a lovely test and stayed listening to me the entire way round. She really has a heart of gold and tries to please so much. We scored 71.89% and with that won our class comfortably while securing our ticket to the British Dressage Nationals held at Somerford Park in September.
With just over a month to go, the hard work continues. It’s a very competitive class at the Nationals with some top combinations but we will be giving it our all! Dutchys owner Lucie Stokoe, Jack and I are very excited!
